October 7th, 2026 — A new analysis led by UAP Science Advisory Council member Jacob Haqq Misra finds that six objects recorded in a declassified U.S. military infrared video show periodic brightness changes consistent with the wingbeat frequencies of birds.
The researchers analyzed a video from DOW-UAP-PR135, released by the U.S. Department of War through the PURSUE program in September 2026. An accompanying military report described six small spherical objects traveling at an estimated 480 miles per hour. Frame-by-frame analysis found that all six objects brighten and dim at frequencies between 7.1 and 7.9 times per second, with each object varying independently.
By comparing these signals with infrared observations of flying animals recorded by the Galileo Project, they found similar periodic variations within known bird wingbeat frequencies. The analysis also found that parallax caused by the motion of the observing aircraft could account for the reported apparent speed without requiring the objects themselves to be traveling at 480 miles per hour.
“It is important to inspect the PURSUE sensor videos as we would any other scientific data. In this case, careful frame-by-frame analysis revealed properties of the objects that would be difficult to detect by eye. We need to keep developing tools like this to gain as much information as we can from the PURSUE releases.”
— Jacob Haqq Misra, UAP Science Advisory Council member and lead author of the study
“The PURSUE program represents the most transparent effort to date by the U.S. government to declassify UAP records and make them available for scientific analysis. Continued releases of high-quality data, including sensor telemetry and unredacted video whenever possible, will allow science to replace speculation with evidence.”
